Directed by Dornaz Hajiha, the short film ‘Marzieh’ has won two awards at the 14th Vancouver International Women in Film Festival (VIWFF) in Canada.
Hajiha won the award for best director and Mastaneh Mohajer, editor and producer of the film, was awarded the best editor award.
The short which is co-produced by Iran and England had its first international screening at the VIWFF.
‘Marzieh’ narrates the story of a couple whose life goes through some challenges after they return home from a relative’s funeral.
The short film has won a number of awards, including the best short film award at the Iranian Film Festival in Prague, the Czech Republic.
The 14th edition of the VIWFF has been held on March 5-10, 2019.
